Clara the Spotted Jellyfish Amigurumi Pattern

I finally have a new pattern to share with you guys! This is Clara from Princess Jellyfish. I saw a plush of her at a convention a few weekends ago and really wanted to try making her. This is the result. She kind of looks more like an octopus than a jellyfish >.>

She's about 7-8 inches tall. I really don't want to go down a hook size, but it seems like I might have to soon. Need to make myself crochet tighter!

Anyways, here's the pattern. Hope you enjoy!

Materials needed:

Hook size of your preference. I used a G hook

Yarn in a dark and light pink

White, Black, and Red felt

Black embroidery floss

Materials for attaching felt (either embroidery floss or some form of glue)

Tapestry Needle

Abbreviations:

ch= chain

sc= single crochet

hdc= half double crochet

dc= double crochet

sl st= slip stitch

inc= increase (2 single crochets in 1 stitch)

dec= decrease ( single crochet 2 stitches together)

BLO= back loops only

FLO= front loops only

** = repeat whatever is in between

F/O= finish off

Head/Body: with light pink yarn

Rnd 1: 8 sc in magic ring (8)

Rnd 2: *inc* (16)

Rnd 3: *sc, inc* (24)

F/O. You may need to use the tail to thread through the last round and close the hole.

Ruffle: with darker pink

For this step you will be working into the head. Make sure the top of the head is facing towards you.

-Attach yarn with any of the front loops of round 24 with a slip stitch.

Rnd 1:

-This round will all be worked in the front loops of round 24.

-sc in same stitch as joining, sc around (40)

Rnd 2: FLO sl st in first sc of round 1, ch 3, FLO 2 dc in same stitch, FLO 3 dc in each of the remaining stitches (120)

Rnd 3: sl st in 3rd chain of beginning ch 3, ch 2, hdc in same stitch, hdc around (120)

Sl st in 2nd chain of beginning ch 2, F/O

Tentacles: Make 8 with light pink yarn.

Rnd 1: 5 sc in magic ring (5)

Rnd 2: *inc* (10)

Rnd 3: *1 sc, inc* (15)

Rnd 4: *2 sc, inc* (20)

Rnd 5-12: *sc* (20)

Rnd 13: *8 sc, dec* (18)

Spots:

I used a combination of these spots. Use however many you want. On mine there are 2-3 spots on each tentacle and 6 spots on the head.

Spot 1: 5 mg in magic ring, sl st in 1st sc, F/O leaving tail.

Spot 2: 6 mg in magic ring, sl st in 1st sc, F/O leaving tail.

For Head spots I also added:

Spot 3: 5 mg in magic ring (5)

*inc* (10)

Face Details:

-For the eyes I made ovals about 3 rows tall with the black felt.

-The white pupils are about a row tall.

- The mouth is 4 rows tall. I basically cut out a narrow red triangle and curved out the tip.

-Attach the eyes and mouth onto the face however you would like. Embroider on the eyelashes with black embroidery floss.

Attachment:

-Use tails to sew spots onto the bottom of each tentacle and on top of the head. (Optional: Stick residential copper electrical wiring into the body and a tentacle, and sew the leg on. -Use tails to sew tentacles to the bottom of the body. I did 3 tentacles in the front, 3 tentacles in the back, and 1 tentacle on each side.

Servbot pattern

Ok, I've decided to finally share my servbot pattern. Be warned, there are many tiny pieces that you must sew together. I tried to simplify it so that there would not be as much sewing, but I really do think it came out best the first way I made it. I am also fairly new to designing my own patterns, so this is made with many simple shapes.

This pattern will be for version 1. This means that the neck will be slightly bumpy, but the head will be better proportioned. I will try to be as clear as possible with the pattern, but please feel free to send me a message if something seems confusing. If this is all okay with you, here is the pattern. ^_^

Materials needed:

Worsted weight yarn in gray, yellow, blue, and light blue.

Hooks G and E

Bits of felt in white, black, yellow, and red

Your choice of stuffing

Yarn Needle

Stuff, F/O, and weave in ends.

Using tail, sew to the opening of forearm.

Shoulder: With light blue, E hook, Make 2.

-Sew 1 joint to top of forearm. Do not cut off tail.

- Using yellow yarn, sew center of hand to the other side of forearm.

- Using what is left of the tail, sew joint to the shoulder anywhere besides the opening. I recommend pinning the shoulder to the body before sewing the joints on so you can properly decide on a pose.

- Using tail of shoulder, sew arm to body.

Feet/Legs: With E hook, starting with blue. Make 2

Rnd 1: 6 sc in magic ring (6)

Rnd 2: *inc* (12)

Rnd 3: 3 sc, 6 inc, 3 sc (18)

Rnd 4: *BLO sc* switch to light blue in last switch. (18)

Rnd 5: BLO whole round- 3 sc, 6 dec, 3 sc (12)

Rnd 6: 2 sc, dec, 4 sc, dec, 2 sc. Switch to blue in last stitch. (10)

Rnd 8-9: *sc* (10) Stuff

F/O, weave in ends. Make sure top is flattened.

- Sew 1 joint to top of leg. Do not cut off tail.

- With rest of tail, sew joint to bottom of body.

Using yellow felt, cut yellow circles and with hot glue gun, sew to body. Use picture for reference.

Use rest of felt to customize the face. For a starting point, my eyes are a little over 5 rows of the head in diameter.

I used face references from The Misadventures of Tron Bonne to create my face. Here are some ideas from the game (unused)

Servbot: Dude, chill out!

I've finally made another design!

Servbot from Megaman:

The one on the right is my second version. Nothing has changed but the bottom of his head. I'm still debating whether or not I want to offer this as a free pattern. I have a very busy summer and no job to pay for it all lol. I will EVENTUALLY post it I suppose. Just not any time soon.

Basic Teddy Bear Pattern

I'm so amazed by the response this little bear has gotten. Thanks so much for your support. I love seeing and hearing about your little bears ^^


I thought I would do everyone a favor and update this pattern to make it easier for you to count stitches and attach each part of the bear together. Don't worry! There aren't any major changes. The head is just now closed, and I've given a few minor directions for where to attach everything. Hope this helps you all! 


Basic Teddy Bear
  


MATERIALS
Hook size: E
Recommended Yarn: Red Heart Super Saver SOFT
Note: This will give you a bear that is about 5-6 inches tall. You can increase your hook size to G and use regular red heart super saver solids to give you a bear that will be maybe 7-9 inches tall.
Small bits of black felt for the nose
4.5 mm Safety eyes or in a size of your preference
Hot glue gun


Abbreviations:
sc= single crochet

F/O and flatten leaving tail. Make sure the tail is on one end of the flatten ear. NOTE: The ears will naturally finish in a cup shape. To flatten, just push the cup down. It will then make a flat "U" shape.


Attachment:
1 Cut a triangle out of felt. Curve in corners, and use your hot glue gun to glue it onto the muzzle for a nose.
2 Sew the head to the body.
3. Sew on the ears (on the side 4-5 rounds down), arms (on the side 1 round below the seam between the head and body) and legs (They are only 1 round apart).
4. OPTIONAL: Tie ribbon around neck.

A New Blog???

Yes! Because along with bead sprites I also love to make amigurumi. I'm making it a mission to create my own beautiful patterns one day, but first I'll be recreating amigurumi made by talented, experienced plush designers. I will always be sure to give each designer credit.
