Chubby Panda

I decided to type out the pattern for this little panda since I've gotten quite a few requests for it. I'm also still trying very hard to make my pictures look a bit nicer lol ><. One day I will get a really nice light box and have really pretty pictures!

This pattern will give you a panda that is 2 1/2 inches tall.

Materials needed:
Size F hook
Worsted weight yarn in black and white
Small bits of black embroidery thread
Your choice of stuffing
6 mm safety eyes
7 mm ribbon
Your choice of glue
Tapestry needle

Abbreviations:
sc= single crochet
inc= increase ( 2 single crochets in 1 stitch)
dec= decrease ( single crochet 2 stiches together)
**= anything in between is repeated.
(number)= indicates the amount of stitches at the end of each round
F/O= finish off

Head/Body:
Starting with white
Rnd 1: 6 sc in magic ring (6)
Rnd 2: *inc* (12)
Rnd 3: *sc, inc* (18)
Rnd 4: *2 sc, inc* (24)
Rnd 5: *3 sc, inc* (30)
Rnd 6-9: *sc* (30)
Rnd 10: *4 sc, inc* (36) Switch to black in last stitch.
Rnd 11-15: *sc* (36) Switch to white in last stitch.

Attach safety eyes and embroider nose here.
-My eyes are between rounds 7 and 8, and they are 9 stitches apart.
-I used the black embroidery thread to make a vertical line 1 round below and in between the eyes for the.
-I used black yarn to embroider 2 horizontal lines on top of the vertical line for the nose.

Rnd 16: *4 sc, dec* (30) Begin stuffing at the end of this round and continue until the end of the pattern.
Rnd 17: *3 sc, dec* (24)
Rnd 18: *2 sc, dec* (18)
Rnd 19: *sc, dec* (12)
Rnd 20: *dec* (6)
Add any additional stuffing needed. F/O and weave in end.

Ears: Make 2 black.
Rnd 1: 5 sc in magic ring (5)
Rnd 2: *inc* (10)
Rnd 3: *sc* (10)
F/O leaving tail.

Hands: Make 2 in black.
Rnd 1: 6 sc in magic ring (6)
Rnd 2: *sc* (6)
F/O leaving tail

Attachment:
Ears: Sew these on about 3 stitches behind the eyes with their highest point at around round 4
Hands: Sew these on below the ears with the highest point on the first round of black.
Bow: Tie a bow with the 7mm ribbon and glue it below the nose on the first round of black.

Tiny Spring Chick

Originally I wanted this to be another bear, but it turned into a tiny chick. It's about 3 and 1/2 inches tall when using worsted weight yarn and an F hook. Very easy and quick to make. Have fun making these in different colors for spring and Easter!

MATERIALS
F hook
Worsted Weight Yarn in colors of your choice. Mine is Aruba Sea green and Pale Yellow (red heart super saver solid)
6 mm safety eyes


Abbreviations:
sc= single crochet
inc= increase ( 2 single crochets in 1 stitch)
dec= decrease ( single crochet 2 stiches together)
FLO= front loops only
**= anything in between is repeated.
F/O= finish off

Head and Body: in main color of chick.
Rnd 1. 6 sc in magic ring (6)
Rnd 2. *inc* (12)
Rnd 3: * sc, inc* (18)
Rnd 4: *2 sc, inc* (24)
Rnd 5-9: *sc* (24) Insert safety eyes here after round 9. Mine are between rounds 7 and 8 and 5 stitches apart.
Rnd 10: *2 sc, dec* (18)
Rnd 11: *1 sc, dec* (12)
Rnd 12: *FLO sc, inc* (18)
Rnd 13: *2 sc, inc* (24)
Rnd 14: *3 sc, inc* (30) Stuff the first made sphere fully at the end of his round.
Rnd 15-19: *sc* (30)
Rnd 20: *3 sc, dec* (24)
Rnd 21: *2 sc, dec* (18) Start stuffing rest of the body here. Continue stuffing as you finish.
Rnd 22: * sc, dec* (12)
Rnd 23: *dec* (6)
F/O and weave in tail.

Beak: In yellow
Rnd 1: 4 sc in magic ring (4)
Rnd 2: *sc, inc* (6)
F/O and leave tail to sew on later.

Wings: Make 2 in main color of chick
Rnd 1: 6 sc in magic ring (6)
Rnd 2: *sc, inc* (9)
Rnd 3-7: *sc* (9)
F/O. Leave tail to sew to body later. Lightly stuff.

Feet: Make 2 in yellow.
Rnd 1: 6 sc in magic ring (6)
Rnd 2: *sc, inc* (9)
Rnd 3-5: *sc* (9)
F/O. Leave tail to sew to body. Flatten piece.

Attachment:
1. The beak is sewn with the highest point covering all of round 8.
2. After being lightly stuffed, the wings' last round is flattened together and sewn onto the sides of round 13.
3. The feet face outward and are sewn at the bottom in the center of the body.
